Advanced Surface Ablation is a more modern laser vision procedure with an added focus on safety over LASIK which makes for a more vialbe solution for some patients.

As oppose to making an incision to open a flap on the front of the cornea the surface skin cells treated with diluted alchol solution to loosen the surface cells and remove them. Laser treatment is then used and the corneal surface is covered with a protective contact lens.

This procedure reduces the complications that can be associated with cutting a flap and you will not have the same concerns in regard to how careful you must be following surgery in terms of normal, daily eye rubbing and eye irritation as well as dryness are reduced.
