Shanlee Stevens, M.D.

Dr. Shanlee Stevens is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a distinguished oculoplastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgeon based in South Florida. Dr. Stevens completed her ophthalmology residency at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, part of the University of Miami Health System, which has consistently been ranked as the top eye hospital in the United States. During her residency, she trained under world-class leaders in the field of ophthalmology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, where she was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of her academic excellence, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language & Hispanic Studies from the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Stevens was subsequently selected for a highly competitive and prestigious two-year ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in oculoplastic, facial, and reconstructive surgery in New York City. Throughout her fellowship, she served as a member of the medical staff at several leading institutions, including NYU Medical Center, Columbia University, Weill Cornell Medical Center, Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital, and Bellevue Hospital. She also gained valuable experience working within prominent cosmetic plastic surgeons throughout Manhattan.

A dedicated advocate for advancing medical knowledge, Dr. Stevens has contributed extensively to the field through peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on ophthalmology and oculoplastic surgery. She has presented her research at numerous national conferences and was honored with the Young ASOPRS Rising Star Award for her innovative contributions to the specialty. Dr. Stevens remains actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Women in Ophthalmology. She is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish.

With a particular expertise in periocular rejuvenation, Dr. Stevens specializes in a variety of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Her areas of focus include aesthetic eyelid surgery, brow lifts, nonsurgical facial rejuvenation using Botox® and dermal fillers, and skin resurfacing. She is also highly skilled in complex reconstructive procedures such as tear duct surgery, Mohs/cancer reconstruction, thyroid eye disease treatment, eyelid malposition repair, and orbital tumor removal.
